38 & Counting (Black Poplar Series)

£80.00

Three Ink Drawings of elements of Black Poplar Trees. Framed. ( To be sold together).

There are only 38 mature Black Poplar trees in Sussex and they are at risk of extinction across the UK. Thanks to conservation efforts, 6,000 young trees have now been planted across Sussex with care taken to ensure genetic diversity. It’s thought that one of the trees in John Constable’s ‘The Haywain’ is a Black Poplar - so the connection between art and this tree are long and it’s hoped that these works help raise awareness of the importance of these conservation efforts.
